Orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata), an introduced perennial cool season grass, <br />was relatively common, with 3.63% cover. In general, vegetation-was sparse at <br />this site. Bare soil and rock dominated the landscape. <br />Total average vegetation cover, for first hits, was 32.9%. Herbaceous vascular <br />plant cover, for all hits, was 32.9%. Standing dead, litter, bare soil, and rock . <br />each had 0.31 %, 41.44%, 24.06%, and 1.25% cover, respectively (first hits). <br />Average species density was 33.8 species/100 sq.m. <br />PRODUCTION <br />(Table 2) <br />Total average production was 2,524.9 Ibslacre. Alfaffa (Medicago saliva) <br />contributed 81.55 Ibs/acre (approx. 3%) and all other species contributed 2,444.6 <br />Ibs/acre. <br />WOODY PLANT DENSITY <br />• (Table 3) <br />Total average density of woody plants was 1,299.1 individuals/acre, composed <br />entirely of native shrubs. Mountain snowberry (Symphoricarpos rotundifolius) <br />was the most abundant, with 933.62 individuals/acre, and alkali sagebrush <br />(Seriphidium arbusculum ssp. longilobum) was second most abundant, with <br />215.7 individuals/acre. Saskatoon servicebernj (Amelanchier alnifolia), <br />chokecherry (Padus virginiana ssp. melanocarpa), Gambel oak (Quercus <br />gambelir), rubber rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus nauseosus), and Woods' rose . <br />(Rosa woodsir) had moderate to low densities. <br />2003 Reclaimed Anna <br />(Photographs 7-8) <br />COVER <br />(Table 4) <br />Native perennial cool season grasses were most abundant, with 10.5% of the <br />total 31.4% vegetation cover.
