DMG Permit No. M-88-I 12
Quarterly, Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling
Dear Mr. Dillie:
JUL 10 1998
Division of Minerals 8 Geology
All required sampling was completed during the month of June. Enclosed are analytical reports
from Accu-Labs for the recent bi-weekly sampling period as specified in the April 1992 Abatement
Plan. The cross-reference Coble between sample identification numbers, sample types and sample
locations is also attached. Field and rinse blanks were collected as part of the QA/QC.
All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry.
Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified.
When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on
June 30, 1998 the piezometers were dry or contained well below 12 inches of water.
The two new west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on June 30, 1998 with the
following result: BF-lwas 12.50 ft and BF-2 was 16.30 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area
were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 14.55 ft, PW-2 was 15.60 ft, PW-3 was 23.65 ft
and PW-4 was 26.05 ft.
The underdrain was of approximately 25 gpm.
For the month of June the leak detection flow was 12 GPAD.
