Elizabeth Shelton or Suzie Erikson
1313 Sherman Street Room 215
Denver CO 80203
~UL 0 3 2006
Oivisian tl Minerals and $s~y
Dear Ms Erikson:
We are writing in reference to the Canyon Rim Stone Quarry, file M - 2006-053. We have been contacted by
the permit application representative, Jack Clazk and provided a copy of then application. We aze currently
reviewing the 110 application for this proposal through an environmental document.
The surface estate at this site is held by Everett and Florence Jackson and the mineral estate is reserved to the
United States and under the management of the Bureau of Land Management, Royal Gorge Field Office.
Our review will be limited primarily to T&E review and cultural inventory (archaeology). Although we have
not completed this review we cuuently do not anticipate any reason that we would not be willing to sell rock at
this location through a mineral material contrnct.
In order to sell rock at this location we would request that the applicant complete all permitting particularly the
110 process. We aze aware that this is underway. Please consider this letter as our willingness to issue mineral
material contrncts at this site subject to any possible mitigation that may result from the T&E review or
cultural inventory.
Sincerely,
Roy L. Masinton
Field Manager
Royal Gorge Field Office
