Long
Oivisian Director
In a meeting held Apri16, 2000, the Division of Minerals and Geology IT)MG) discussed with Banks & Gesso
and Asphalt Specialties whether DMG or the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment
(CDPHE) would be primarily responsible for overseeing the clean-up of an aria contaminated by pesticides
inside an approved permit area. After some discussion, it was decided that this choice would be left up to the
Operator. The Division also agreed that if the Operator chose to accept DMG as the enforcement agency for
this portion of the reclamation program, that DMG would review CDPHE's recommendations for the site and
their proposed plan as part of our permit process.
If you have any further questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567.
Sincerely,
Christina L.
