Also developed the client's Community Relations
Plan.
RCRA Corrective Measure Study: Screened and evaluated appropriate technologies for hydrocarbon
ranediation at the oil refmay. Monitored and analyzed effectiveness of interim measures installed to
collect free-phase hydrocarbons. Planned and conducted field trials for several candidate remediation
technologies including a microbiological study to evaluate the presence of hydrocarbon-degmdinB
bacteria and identify appropriate nutrients to enhance biological activity.
RCRA Part B Perwit Applications: Drafted RCRA Part B permit applications for post-closure care and
monitoring of closed surface impoundments at refinery in Nardi Dakota, and for the waste management
area at a closed refinery in Wyoming.
Hydrogeologic Investigation at Fuel Bulk Storage Facility: Conducted subsurface investigation of
suspected fuel release from petroleum pipeline terminal in Idaho. Tasks included designing the Sampling
and Analysis Plan (SAP), installing and sampling monitoring we1Ls, and computer modeling to evaluate
transport of both dissolved and separato-phase hydrocarbons.
' James L Grant & Associates, Inc., Englewood, Colorado 1988-1990
Staff and Project Hydrogeologist
1 Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility: Conducted hydrogeologic investigation in support of
the design and permitting of a landfill for the on-site containment of soils contaminated with low-level
radioactive waste at a former nuclear fuel-rod fabrication facility, Investigation included the Work Plan
design and implementation including soil and bedrock sampling, monitoring well installations, aquifer
' testing, and groundwater sampling. Additional tasks included joint surveys for evaluations of
groundwater flow in fractured bedrock, and contaminant transport modeling.
' Underground Storage Tanks: Managed UST program: wrote cost proposals and maintained client
relations; provided project management for UST removals, site investigations, development of corrective
action programs; conducted site investigations that included monitoring well installations, soil, soil gas,
and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, and data analysis. Corrective action programs included the
design and installation of recovery wells, installation and operation of dual-phase and LNAPL pumps,
groundwater treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, permitting, and development of long-tens
monitoring and reporting requirements. Projects were located in North and South Dakota, Nebraska,
' Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Texas.
U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management, Lander Wyoming, 19841986
Geological Engineer
Team member preparing NEPA Envirottmrntal Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact
Statements (EISs) for oil and gas devclopment in environmrntally-sensitive areas.
Team member for development of BLM Resource Management Plan for long-tens management of
resources on public lands.
' Evaluated mineral occunrnces and assessed potential for commeroial development for BLM Rawlins
District, Wyoming.
