MASS BALANCE
CEC disposed of 39,139 tons of mixed fly and bottom ash, obtained from the
Trigen Colorado Energy Corporation/Coors facility (see Ash Disposal Data)
in the south end of B-Pit using approximately 6,680 bank cubic yards* (BCY)
of overbwden material to cover the disposal areas locally, and to control dust
and fugitive debris in the immediate areas of the pits. Approximately 1,830
tons of mine waste rock was disposed of in B-Pit between two ash layers.
Approximately 7,080 BCY of overbwden material was in the reclamation of
the southern portions of B-Pit and a segment of the B-Pit access road.
Relatively small amounts of overbwden materials were excavated from the
long term spoil area, due in part to the use of excess spoil from the B-Pit
access road regrading as a portion of the spoil material for the B-Pit
reclamation. Approximately 70,300 BCY of topsand was moved from
topsand piles A-1 and B-1 to finish the reclamation of portions of A-Pit and
the A-Pit access road prior to the 1999 seeding activity.
• Remaining B-Pit Airspace Volume
(to proposed final reclamation contours)
Remaining A-Pit Airspace Volume
(to proposed final reclamation contows)
Excess Long-term Spoil Remaining On Site
Topsand Stockpiled On Site
Note: * -- Denoted as "cubic yards in-place".

1,641,200 BCY
0 BCY
331,200 BCY
359,700 BCY
At-IR-1999 -117-
