1999 ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE BAYFIELD PIT NO. 1 PERMIT NO. M-87-038
An amendment was approved in 1998 adding approximately 11 acres in the southeast
area to this 53-acre permit site, bringing the total to approximately 64 acres. This
amended acreage is planned for mining between the years 1999 to 2000.
During the report year, approximately 10 acres were mined in the northeast portion of
the permit area, as shown on the annual report map. Approximately 6 acres in the floor
of the western portion of this area will contain continued mining during the next reporting
period.
Approximately 2.5 acres on the west and north pit slopes of the active pit area were
completed with grading and topsoiling during the report period and approximately 1 acre
was seeded with the required reclamation seed mix, as shown on the map. Sloping and
grading of approximately 1.5 acres of pit slopes on the eastern boundary of the active pit
area will be completed during the next reporting period.
