STATE OF COLORADO <br />DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman SL, Room 215 C O L O RA D O <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Phone: (3031 866-3567 <br />FAX: 1303) 832-8106 INTERNAL MEMO DIVISION O F <br />M i N S RA L S <br />G E O L O G Y <br /> aECLAMATION•NINING <br />SAf ETT•SCIENCE <br /> <br />TO: Dan Mathews 6 Feb 2004 <br />FROM: Jim Burn. <br />SUBJ: McClane and Munger Annual Hydrology Report for WY 2003 <br />Dan, The review is complete for the McClane/Munger AHR for WY2002. <br />Overall, the report indicates that there has been very little in the way of impact from the <br />mining activity on the groundwater or surface water resources around the mines. <br />The minewater had lower total dissolved salt (TDS) content than East Salt Creek during <br />the lit quarter sampling, In the 2"d quarter, the TDS value was elevated slightly <br />downstream of the McClane Canyon Mine but was still far below the baseline value for <br />East Salt Creek. <br />Groundwater analyses show that pH in the East Salt Creek alluvium upgradient of the <br />mines was lower than that below, but the electrical conductivity (indicative of TDS) was <br />lower downstream. <br />There was no indication of any impact from the mines. <br />cc: Sandy Brown <br />Bill Owens <br />Governor <br />Greg E.
