•
• iii iuiuiiniu iii
999
BOETTCHER SANDSTONE QUARRY--LIMITED IMPACT PERMIT 77-345
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTINUE
IDEAL BASIC INDUSTRIES, INC., CEMENT DIVI
LARIMER COUNTY, COLORADO
t, :. s:~
1.~ 79a~
This small quarry operation continues intermit, zently?~+~~`'~'~'~~^~,~~~
required to supply the Boettcher cement plant withC~~~R}x~' c* ~:atu;c', fcaotirces
25,000 tons of sandstone per year. Removal of sandstone
during the year has been within the 6 to 7 acre area, as
marked on Map bcc-1368 furnished with the 1980 report.
Removal during the coming year will also be in this same=_
area. A map with the same markings can be furnished, i.E
desired.
The entire 9-acre affected area outlined on this d:cawing
will be subject to redisturbance in future years, making any
reclamation impractical until operation is discontinued.
A field inspection July 1, 1981 by Mr. Jay Lucas mfan-
tioned small brown overburden piles at the north end than
could be salvaged for reclamation. The permit application
mentioned the intent to utilize these piles for reclamation
purposes. The inspection report also suggested large boul-
ders that rolled down the slope when quarry was opened i.n 1961
should be disposed of properly. Many of the boulders ai~e out-
side the permit area, but removal will be accomplished F~rior
to final reclamation, if disturbance of this new area will
not present a permit problem. Any comments from the Mimed
Land staff in this regard would be appreciated.
ars
Properties Manager
October 7, 1981
REM:iem
