These markers were established in
August. and resurveyed in December.
The Zamora canyon. markers were originally established in
February.. At the time, the ground was frozen. This did not allow
for the installation of secure markers. These points were
initially surveyed and then resurveyed during the second and third
quarters by a Professional Land Surveyor. These surveys have shown
an erratic fluctuation in the elevations of the markers. Basin has
re-established the points in concrete adjacent to the original
markers. The December survey shows the elevation for the old as
well as an initial elevation for the new markers.
The two other sets of subsidence markers for Santistevan
Canyon and along the railroad track East o_f the of Ea le were
also surveyed each quarter curing the second half of 1994. That
information is also included:
As a result of reviewing the 1994 subsidence results, an
investigation was performed during February and March, 1995 to
verify the previous subsidence survey results. Several
discrepancies were observed in the previous surveys. Level lines
were run over all subsidence markers with the eicception of the 3rd
North set located .along the railroad tracks. o re iabTe
in ormation was o tame f"or the markers located at the East end of
the second panel and on the West end of the first panel. The
Zamora canyon markers had been established at or near the time of
subsidence in the second panel. Therefore, the information
gathered during the level runs will represent baseline values for
subsequent surveys. Basin has a high confidence level in the
values obtained during the level line check. These values should
be considered the most valid in determining subsidence.
