fill B Pit to ash grade. The remaining 1 million cu.yds of
long term spoil was re-excavated to reduce the slope of the
pile and minimize erosion.
General Trends:
The water quality at the Keenesburg site seems to be generally
increasing over time. Static water level charts indicate that
the aquifers are recharging as McWhorter predicted. Due to
the cessation of mining operations the water quality will
continue to rise. Further disturbance of the surface will
cause the water quality to decrease, as evidenced in spoils
well SMW-2.
3. The data from the 1992 AHR sampling and measurements are
within the Probable Hydrologic Consequences for the mine.
This concludes my review. The mine has been found to be in general
compliance with their monitoring plan.
ses\keensbrg
