November 03, 2002
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street
Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Reference: Permit No.: M-1977-410
Operation Name: Cross Gold Mine
Dear DMG:
Please find attached our annual permit renewal 110(2) with our check in the
amount of $ 225.00. Our mining operation remained c-osed during the past permit
year and no surface or underground core drilling activity took place.
The mines were kept on a full care and maintenance basis through-out the year.
The Cross mine office was open all year round and very active. The Cross Mine and
Caribou Mine water discharge systems were maintained on a seven day per week,
year round basis. AR the requirements under our NPDES permit were kept current.
Daily Gme activity at the Cross Mine took place, along with all the required
sampling procedures and record keeping. We continued to employ the services of
Walsh Environmental Scientists and Engineers to send in monthly our DMR reports
and work on our annual Storm water permit. I continued work on the SEP program
as reported to the Colorado Department of Health and the Environment. This
reclamation work continued at the Cross Mine this past summer and fa1L
Work continued non-stop toward financing the next round of exploration-
developmentwork on the Consolidated Caribou District properties. The
improvement in world gold prices has helped with this effort. Work continued non-
stop with our geologist and vice-president Bob Akright towards updating our
geologic data base on the Consolidated Caribou Project.
We continued to provide free tours and lectures at the Cross Mine for a number
of educational groups from around the State and Country during the past year.
Work continued on the reclamation effort in the Caribou Park peat bog that was
severely damaged by the Denver Radio station "mudfest" held in September of
2000. A program directed by Walsh Environmental, Calais, along with Rocky
Mountain Native Plants from Rifle, Colorado enabled $ 9,500 worth of willow
bushes, cinquefoils and other native species to be planted in the damaged area
during this past summer.
Daily inspections of our cap and powder magazines were made. Normal
maintenance of our buildings and facilities was continued as well as required
downtime equipment maintenance. All properties, both patented and un patented as
reported with last years reports, were kept current. There are no changes or
additions to our property lists from those reported last year. A fulltime caretaker
continued to live at the Comstock Mine cabin year round. We continued to keep the
roads open and maintained year round to the Caribou area.
Mine Office (303) 258-3806 Facsimile (303) 258-0402
P.O.
