Walther
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
The inspections were conducted as required by Rule 4.09.1(11) and the additional requirements
of Rule 4.10.2(2). Observations indicate the engineered structures are well maintained and no
indications of instability of the RDA or DW P are apparent.
Significant reclamation work occurred at the DWP in the 1s1 quarter of 2003. According to the
report, cover was applied at the approved depth of two feet (TR-46) and this cover and topsoil
was sampled for suitability and nutrient deficiencies. Please document the application of
fertilizer or soil amendments in future reports and in the Annual Reclamation Report for the site.
The Division has one question regarding the 4'" quarter and 1st quarter reports. Pond 7 was
cleaned of sediment and this material was deposited on the DWP, late in the 41n quarter or early
in the 151 quarter. Why do the reports state no new material was added in either quarter? If
material was added, please state when and address the issue of spreading and compaction of
this material.
Please submit quarterly waste pile inspection reports for the Division's records within 30 days
after the end of each quarter. If you have any questions, please call me.
Si c rei ,
Ke t A. Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist II
