Flow values from the 004 Pond have
been affected by tYie reduced diameter of the discharge culvert modified
on May 29, 1987 (36 inches to 6 inches).
Review of the TD:3 plot (SF 0.5) indicates that TDS values have
consistently increased since 1982, primarily due to a concurrent
increase in upgradi.ent mined area and ground water resaturation in the
spoils. However, stabilizing of TDS values has occurred since 1997.
- Surface Water Site SW-S2-10 (SSC101~ This site monitors Cow Camp
Creek at its confluence with Fish Creek. It is monitored May through
September on a monthly basis. This year, no flow was observed at this
site, although NPi)ES 004 upstream was flowing continuously. This
reduction in flow is due to stream channel infiltration,
evapotranspiration, and the absence of lateral inflow from tributaries
to Cow Camp Creek. The TDS plot recently reveals a stable trend.
- NPDES Discharge i?oint 008 (NPDES8). The annual average flow values
for the water year :since this pond began to flow are:
• 2004 = 0.125 cfs (monthly measurements)
2003 = 0.168 cfs "
13
