DMG Permit No. M-88-112 June Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of June. The NANO/RO water plan[ operated intermittently during the month. A total of 11,676,600 gallons of water (35.84 acre feet) was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of June. All surface water stations were inspected daily and RS-4 and RS-6 was found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. The piezometers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment were checked on 28 June, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The west pit piezometers were measured Tor depth to water on June 28, 2001, with the following results: BF-1 was 29.24 ft., BF-2 was 32.82 ft., BF-4 was 26.25 ft. and BF-6 was 32.23 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 29.22 ft., PW-2 was 29.53 ft., PW-3 was 36.62 ft. and PW-4 was 30.35 ft. The underdrain was measured at approximately 42 gpm. The collection pond leak detection system was pumped on 29 June 2001; the leak was approximately 2.48 gpad. The collection pond has been pumped twice weekly to maintain a small volume of water. No holes in the liner have been found [o repair. The seeps remain dry. With DMG approval a total of 2,139,600 gallons (6.57 acre feet) of brine water was pumped from the evaporation system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment.
