• Bowie Resources Limited April 25, 2001
Bowie No. 2 Mlne
Annual Hydrology Report
are reported in gallons per minute. Stream and river flows are reported in cubic feet per second.
Table 4 contains a listing of all monitoring points, with descriptions of their locations and a
reference to the Monitoring Point Table that contains this year's monitoring data. All Drill Holes
and Wells, with the exception of AW-2, 7-10, have charts which present current and historic
monitoring data. DH-13 and DH-34b were eliminated by mining during 1999. No Ponds have
charts. Springs and streams with flows in excess of 5 gallons per minute and adequate historical
data have charts included.
Table 5 contains local precipitation data for 2000. This data is obtained from the intemet at
www. crh. noaa. g_ov/g~.
Table 6 contains a listing of monitoring point charts. Points without charts either have insufficient
monitoring events or have little evidence of water.
Monitoring point tables and charts follow this introduction. Each Monitoring Point has an
individual table which tabulates the annual data collection and reports Minimum, Maximum,
Average and Baseline data. A reference in each footnote explains the period used for baseline
data.
- Flow data for the North Fork of the Gunnison river is obtained from the USGS from a website
http://nwis-colo.cr.usgs.gov/historic.html. This flow reading is obtained telemetrically from a
station near Somerset, CO and is reflective of upper river flows only. This monitoring point is
identified by the USGS as 09132500.
Flow data for the Fire Mountain Cana] is obtained from the Division of Water Resources, Division
IV, 1540 E. Niagara Street, Montrose, Colorado 81402. This flow is representative of the upper
flow.
Monitoring point identifiers neaz the mine portals aze historic and follow no specific naming
convention. Monitoring points located in azeas monitoried for the PR-04 permit revision follow a
convention where the first letter(s) designates a water source type, such as "S" for Spring or "SP"
for Spring and Pond. The numeral(s) following the first letter designate what Section the water
source is located, for instance, SP34-2 would be a spring and pond in Section 34. The numeral
separated with a dash indicates an index number for that point. SP34-2 would be the second
monitoring point found in Section 34.
NPDES Monitoring Points
The mine has three (3) discharge monitoring points. All three points were monitored according
to permit requirements during periods of dischazge. Copies of the Dischazge Monitoring Reports
•
