This
site is located neaz the main facilities area.
Activities at the Lower Refuse Pile had an
insignificant effect on surface or
groundwater quality outside the permit area.
Persistent (from 1994) no or tow flows
suggest underground mining activities may
have diminished flows in the G-26B spring.
This site overlies the F-Seam in the Lone
Pine area and lies above B-seam mining.
AHlt•93.210/OJ/IS/96(1:79pm)
2
Underground mining did not produce any
new significant effects on springs or surface
water monitoring stations during water yeaz
1995. Above average precipitation
increased spring flows and extended the
period of flows for intermittent springs and
streams.
Monitoring data for the period 1 October
1994 through 30 September 1995 show no
significant adverse impacts to the hydrologic
balance from mining activities at the West
Elk Mine. Water Year 1996 is expected to
be similaz to 1995 relative to hydrology at
the mine. No significant impacts aze
expected.
REVISED 0927/96
