DMG concurs with your assessment that subsidence has, for all intents
and purposes, ceased in those areas monitored north of Highway 12.
Review of the data indicates almost no measurable subsidence over the last year. All mining ceased at the
Golden Eagle mine on Dcember 3l, (995. For those stations remaining in the monitoring plan, the average
recorded movement for each monitored station, averaged by subsidence monument line, since March 1996
is as follows:
Zamora Canyon lrne - .l2 feet or 1.44 inches
Easr Panel line - .075 feet or 'nches
Third North line - .l6 feet or 1.92 inches
Sanristevan line -insignificant
NW3 West End - .037 feet or'/: inch
There does seem to be a discrepancy for station S-6 on the Santistevan line for 1997. Please review and
correct as necessary in future reports.
Thank you for completing your monitoring in accordance with the approved plan. We have no further
questions at this time.
Sincer ly,
-~ ~ -/
eK nt Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
