• I.3.b Well Water Quality <br />The well water quality program involved baseline <br />monitoring of water quality on a semiannual basis. <br />Stipulations to the permit called for quarterly sampling <br />of wells within the permit area and quarterly sampling of <br />the two wells in the F-Seam up dip of the permit area <br />(SQM-2H and SOM-16H). <br />The water quality sampling program for permit area wells <br />and environmental study area wells outside the permit area <br />is outlined in Table I.3-2. Samples collected were <br />analyzed for all parameters listed in Table I.1-1. Water <br />quality data for Water Year 1982 are included in the <br />• Quarterly Monitoring Reports. <br />I.3.c. Mine Water Mon itorinq <br />A mine water monitoring program was initiated in Water Year <br />1982. A map showing the locations of mine inflows is provided in <br />Exhibit III. An estimate of quantity of inflow is provided in <br />Table I.3-3. Water quality samples were collected at location <br />E-4 shown in Exhibit III. Water quality analysis results are <br />reported in Table I.3-4 along with a previous sample from the <br />Sylvester Gulch Test Ad it. Interpretation of these analytical <br />results is prov ided in Section II. Water imported for use within <br />the mine and mine water discharges are provided in Table I.3-5. <br />During Water Year 1982, no mine water discharge occurred. / <br />Imported water was estimated from the water use requirements of <br />the continuous miner. <br />-22- <br />
