The West Mine Veniikaiion Shaft was <br />filled during this same herod. <br />The Bowie East ~dir~e zeclamation during 2001. consisted of demolition and removal of <br />pe~manert s±'ructures. The folfoudng stractares ,were temoved_ badrhouse/office: storage <br />tanks, ~I1CC buildings; rice ]souse: bekt s-tructures, transfer towers: shoe/:=Earehouse, tine <br />shop, loading bin: fire house. pelt siruciure, the rriajority of the ?;000 ton bin,?uzrd <br />shack, see=.-age treatment plant; crushing and screenine plant, truck loadout, and stacking <br />hrbe. <br />Pot the reporting year 2002; Bowie Resources Ltd., continued with the reclamation of the <br />Bowie No. I West Mine Site. Reclamation consisted of distributing and evading of nearly <br />49;000 yrd of subsoil and topsoil back to its approximate original contour. Two neu~ <br />sedimentation control ponds have been established near the bottom of the reclairr!ed area. <br />Upon completion of the grading, the entire area was hych~o-seeded with the approved <br />permanenC seed mix. and using a cellulose mulch at a rate of 1,500 pounds per acre and a <br />taclcifier at 100 pounds per acre. In conjunction with the hydro-seecling a fertilizer was <br />applied at s rate that applied at least 30 pounds per acre of nitrogen and 60 pounds of <br />phosphorus. <br />During this reporting period the ventilation shaft located at the Bowie No. 1 WestMine <br />was re-filled due to settling. Approximately 2,500 yrds was placed into the shaft. As <br />required by the rVline Safety and Health Administration, CFR 30 Part 75.1711-I beginning <br />fi~om the bottom of the coal seam and extendine upward for a distance of I50 fee[; the <br />shaft sx~as filled with non-combustible materiaL~The remaining portion of the shaft was <br />filled with other available material. <br />Reclamation of the East i\4ine consisted of completing the demolition of permanent <br />structures located on the Otd Fan T_evel. Office/Bathhouse Level, and crushine and <br />screening level. <br />4 <br />
