Box 2567
Houston, Texas 77252-2567
E~onMobil
Section 112 Annual Report & Fee
Permit M-1980-047
October 22, 2007
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Sirs:
RECE" rr_ ~
ocr z s , nor
Division of h .~ nauon,
Mining ana Safety
Enclosed are the Section 112 annual fee payment in the amount of $791.00 and
two copies of our annual report for the Colony Shale Oil Project.
Rule 1.15(1)(a) requires an updated statement regarding the sufficiency of the
value of the Financial Warranty. We believe that the Financial Warranty for the
subject permit is sufficient.
Pursuant to issues raised by the Division in last year's inspection, we provided a
submittal that resulted in the Division's approval of a reduction in the Project's
affected acreage. Reductions resulted from both clarification of post-mining land
use and demonstration that certain areas had been reclaimed to the standards
described in the permit. Accordingly, the total affected acreage has been reduced
substantially, and all remaining affected acreage is now confined to lands within
the Colony Resource Block as described in the 1984 Amendment. We have
attached a reclamation map that depicts the remaining affected acreage,
consistent with the aforementioned approvals.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at (281) 654-6183.
Sincerely,
"~^'f v
o~ M.
