Water levels monitored in the Twentymile Sandstone wells remained stable and compazable to previously <br />• collected data. No significant water quality influences were evident from data obtained during 2001. <br />• <br />Localized dewatering of the Trout Creek Sandstone appears evident in the vicinity of well 001-83-106 (Figure <br />29), although the level started recovering slightly in 2000, and continues in 2001. The historical declining water <br />level trend at well 001-83-107 (Figure 30), which appeared to be leveling off in 1999 and 2000, is continuing in <br />200E This decline may be attributable to the pumping of well 001-83-106. Well monitoring efforts at 95M001 <br />(Figure 31) during 2001 yielded water levels comparable to those previously documented at well FCM #2. Water <br />quality characteristics recorded at this site are also comparable to those previously defined for well FCM #2. The <br />water levels returned by this site and by well FCM #2 during 2001 are noted to be markedly lower than levels <br />previously returned from well 006-83-48C. No significant inflows from the Trout Creek formation into the mine <br />workings have been encountered to explain this difference in potenkiometric surface or to suggest that dewatering <br />of the formation is directly attributable to mining activities. No readily apparent water quality impacts associated <br />with mining are noted for the Trout Creek Sandstone aquifer based upon data collected during 2001. <br />Mining related dewatering impacts were noted for the Fish Creek sandstone wells 91M001 and 91M004 (Figure <br />40), and the Ashley well (Figure 41). Wells 91M001 and 91M004 were undermined in 1995 and exhibited water <br />level declines corresponding to mining activity. These wells appeared to be stabilizing, before they were <br />abandoned at the end of the 2000 water year. The Ashley well was undermined in 1999 and exhibited water level <br />declines corresponding to mining activity. This well appeared to be recovering in 2000, and continues in 2001. <br />Two springs are monitored in the same vicinity. SW1 (Table 62) did not flow during this period, but SW2 (Table <br />63) was recorded as flowing m October, May, and August. TCC will contimre to monitor these locations in 2002. <br />No unusual observations are noted with respect to Foidel Creek alluvium groundwater levels. The historical <br />increasing conductivity trend in well 001-5-5 (Figure 46) appears to be continuing in 2001. Elevated TDS <br />concentrations previously documented at Foidel Creek alluvium at well 008-AV-2 (Figure 51) appear to be <br />stabilizing. TCC will continue to carefully monitor the duecion of this trend. <br />No unusual observations are noted with respect to Fish Creek alluvium groundwater levels. The wataz level <br />decline noted in well 006-AY-1 (Figure 56) since 1995, which appeazed to level off in 1999, seems to have <br />resumed in 2000 and 2001. Overall, fluctuations at this well are insignificant. No other notable water level <br />observations are apparent based upon review of the 2001 data. The gradual increase in the field conductivity <br />continued in 2001, however, the fluctuation in individual readings over the year has stabilized. TCC will <br />continue to monitor this trend. Two new alluvial wells (AVF-13 and AVF-14) were installed in August 2001. <br />The data base for these sites will require expanding before general observations can be made. <br />Monitoring was initiated at Trout >ureek alluvial well 008-AT-I (Figure 66) during 1994. I)ming 2001, no <br />unusual observations are noted with respect to the Trout Creek alluvium groundwater levels. No unusual <br />observations aze noted with water quality remaining compazable to alluvial wells upstream of the site. <br />I6 <br />
