• 006-AZ-3 (Table 31), new maximum values were recorded for field conductivity, dissolved calcium, dissolved
selenium, and dissolved magnesium. At we11006-AW-2 (Table 32) new minimum values were recorded for field
pH, and dissolved calcium. New maximum values were recorded for field pH. At we11008-AW-3 (Table 34) a
new minimum value was recorded for dissolved manganese. Anew maximum value was recorded for field
conductivity. Other monitored water quality parameters returned values at the Fish Creek alluvial wells typically
within previously established ranges during 2001.
Trout Creek Alluvial Groundwater: Dicing 2001, one Trout Creek alluvial monitoring well (008-AT-1)
required monitoring for water levels and field parameters on a monthly basis, and water quality sampling on a
quarterly basis. All monitoring requirements were met at this site. Table 35 provides a summary of the 2001
Water Year data collected. Figures 66 and 67 provide graphical representations of water level and field
conductivity information to date. One additional well (Jones) required monitoring £or water levels and field
parameters on a quarterly basis, and water quality sampling for full suite parameters on an annual basis and
sulfate on a quarterly basis. All monitoring requirements were met at this site. Table 36 provides the 2001 data
£or tlus well with Figures 68 and 69 providing graphical representations of selected data.
Well 008-AT-1 is monitored in conjunction with surface water site 1005. Figure 66 depicts the water level
relationship between these two sites. Additionally, at well 008-AT-1 (Table 35) new minimum values were
recorded for lab conductivity, and dissolved sodium calcium. At the Jones well (Table 36) new maximum values
were recorded for dissolved iron, bicarbonate, and for dissolved manganese
• Middle Creek Alluvial Groundwater: Two Middle Creek alluvial wells (AVM-1 and AVM-2) were
incorporated into the monitoring network during 1996. Both require monthly monitoring of water levels and field
parameters with quarterly water quality sampling. AVM-1 lies in the Middle Creek drainage approximately
3500' upstream of the confluence of Middle and Foidel Creeks. AVM-2 lies in the Middle Creek drainage
approximately 7500' upstream of AVM-1. These wells were installed in the fall of 1996. Tables 37 and 38
provide summaries of the 2001 Water Year data collected at each site. Tables 37a and 38a provide period of
record statistical summaries of collected data at each site. Figures 70 through 73 provide graphical
representations of water levels and selected water quality parameters recorded at each site.
Data has been collected for these sites for a limited time, although the 2001 data is wmparable to the 2000 water
year. Well AVM-1 recorded a new minimum for dissolved sodium, and new maximum for molybdenum. Well
AVM-2 recorded a new minimum for dissolved sodium, and new maximmns for dissolved manganese and
sulfate.
3.3 Surface Water Mouitorint=
Monitorin¢/Samnlin¢ Requirements: Technical Revision 38 (TR38, August 2001) requires documentation of
the quantity and quality of area stream flows, the discharge from sedimentation control ponds, mine water
. discharge, and the quantity and quality of springs. Monitoring sites and sampling frequencies are set forth in
TR38, Exhibit 14, Table A, and in CDPS Permits CO-0027154, CO-0036684, and CO-0042161. Site locations
are shown on Map 13A, Hydrologic Monitoring Plan of TR38. Table A of TR38 specifies two general
9
