I1 <br /> necessary, the panels can be connected by welding a 'Jumper" of conductive extrusion <br /> weld from panel to panel or by placing a scrap of conductive liner, with conductive side up, <br />' between panels. <br /> 9. Q: How long will it take to conduct this test? <br />1 A: Test rates of 1 acre per hour or more seem reasonable. <br /> 10. ~: Is a high level of operator skill required? <br /> <br />' A No. <br /> 11. t]: How pn one be sure which is the conductive side of remnants and odd pieces? <br /> A: A simple resistance or continuity test will identify the conductive side. <br /> 12. Q: Will induced ground curtents in areas such as large power plants affect the test as they do <br /> with conventional electric leak surveys? <br />' A: No. <br />a <br /> 13. Q: Must defects exceed a minimum s¢e, to be loc <br />ted by the test as is common with electric <br /> leak surveys? <br />' A: No. Common electric leak surveys depend on establishing current flow through a defect at <br /> low voltage. The very high voltages used in this system will penetrate the smallest defect <br />14. t]: Is this system desgned to replace normal DC procedures such as non-destructive and <br />destructive weld testing? <br />A: No. This best is designed to serve as an additional procedure th further raise the confidence <br />' level in a liner system. <br />15. Q: What other benefits are available with the system? <br />A 1.) Areas such as pipe trots and complex configurations which are difficult, ff not <br />impossible, to test nondestructively, pn be tested with this system. <br />2.) When destructive samples are taken from a primary liner, it is not uncommon to find <br />the secondary liner was damaged in the process. This system permits an <br />' immediate retest of the secondary liner. <br />3.) Patches and repairs can be immediately retested. <br />4.) The conductive layer can be used for Cathodic Protection under steel tanks. <br />' 16. Q: Competitive bidding is required on my project If defect testing is speafied, will this not <br />eliminate competitive bids? <br />A: No. The well-knoum elecbic leak survey is a valid test procedure and is available to all <br />bidders as a defect test procedure. CLC believes that our system is superior, but alternate <br />methods are available. <br />' 17. p: Will re-permitting or variances be required to use conductive liner on projects previously <br />permitted? <br />A: This well vary with the different permitting agendas and regulatory bodies. However, since <br />I the basic liner properties and spedfiration do not change and the ablity m best for defects <br />prior to use represent enhanced value in the liner, it is likely that regulators will look <br />favorably on the use of this material. <br />1 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />
