<br />' establish the area in which the sear should be reconstructed. <br />All acceptable seams must be bounded by lwo locations from which samples <br />passing destructive tests have been taken. <br />' ~ CLI shall document all actions taken in conjunction with destructive test failures; e.g. <br />capping of failed seam area. <br />' 3.4 Defects and Repairs <br />3.4.1 Identification <br />All seams and non-seam areas of the geomembrane shall be examined by CLI for identification of <br />defects, holes, blisters, undispersed raw materials and any sign of contamination by foreign matter. <br />' 3.4.1.1 Defective/damaged materials shall be identfied via a deficiency report, <br />either separately or on the Daily Report Actions taken to resolve or correct the problem will <br />' also be recorded on the similar form. <br />i <br />3.4.1.2 Defects, holes, blisters, undispersed raw materials, signs of contamination <br />by foreign matter, unacceptable welds in geomembranes and other unsatisfactory conditions <br />will be identified on the Daily Report form. The repair/corrective action to correct the <br />deficenry will also be recorded on a similar form. <br />' 3.4.2 Evaluation <br />Each suspect location, both in seam and non-seam areas, shall be non-destructivety tested using <br />' the methods described in Section 3.3.7 as appropriate. Each lontion which tails the non-destructive <br />testing shall be marked by CLI and repaired. Work shall not proceed with any materials which will <br />cover loptions which have been repaired until laboratory test results with passing values are <br />available. <br />3.4.3 Repair Procedures <br />3.4.3.1 Geomembrane Repair Procedures <br />Any portion of the geomembrane failing a destructive or non-destruGive test shall be <br />repaired. Several procedures ebst for the repair of these areas. The final derision as to the <br />appropriate repair procedure shall be agreed upon between the Project Manager and CLI. <br />The procedures avalable include: <br />' Patching -used to repair large holes, tears, and contamination try foreign matter, <br /> Buffing and re-welding -used to repair small sections of extruded seams; <br />' Spot welding or seaming -used to repa'v pinholes or other minor bcal'¢ed flaws; <br /> Capping -used to repair large lengths of failed seams; <br />1 <br />1 <br />' 13 <br /> <br />
