September Monthly Sampling
Dear Mr. Dillie:
All required sampling was completed during the month of September.
The NANO/RO water plant operated intermittently during the month. A total of 10,655,900 gallons of water
(32.70-acre feet) was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of September.
All surface water stations were inspected weekly and RS-4 and RS-6 was found to be dry.
Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample.
The piezometers on the main embankment of [he tailing impoundment were checked on September 28, the
piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water.
The west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on September 27`", with the following results:
BF-1 was 28.93 ft., BF-2 was 32.47 ft., BF-4 was 26.05 ft. and BF-6 was 31.79 ft. The other piezometers in the
West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-I was 29.05 ft., PW-2 was 29.37 ft., PW-3 was
36.25 ft. and PW-4 was 30.31 ft.
The underdrain was measured at approximately 41 gpm.
The collection pond leak detection system was pumped on September 28; the leak was approximately 7 gpad.
The seeps remain dry.
With DMG approval a total of 1,504,600 gallons (4.61-acre feet) of water was pumped from the evaporation
system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment.
