A total of 13,564,900 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of May. As discussed with you, SF-1 well currently has a very slow recovery time and will be sampled later in the month of June. work continued on the stormwaler system from the West Pit backfill. All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. Wlien we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on 5/30/00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. 6579 ~sl~f The two west pit piezomete~rs~vere measured for depth to water on 5/31 /00, with the following result: F-I was 27.93 ft and'8F-2 was 31.34 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 28.57 ft, PW-2 was 28.88 ft, PW-3 was 36.18 ft and PW-4 was 30.84 ft. - gs9~ ~ssD ~sso ,~5~ s The underdrain was measured at approximately 28 gpm. The collection pond's leak detection system was pumped and sampled on 5/30/00. The leak was approximately 36 gpad. The seeps renmain dry. No water was pumped from the evaporation system collection pond to the tailings impoundment.
