We continued to mine in Stage 1, on the face previously disturbed. Reclamation began on lands disturbed by previous mining operations. Please refer to the Annual Report map attached for location of the areas discussed in this report. 2.41 Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 2.40. (1) We continued to mine the face of Stage 1 lowering the bottom of the quarry and no new acreage was disturbed (dark blue). We have found in the past year that the thickness of cinder is starting to increase. In the original application we thought the layer of cinder was fairly uniform at 40 feet, now it appears to be getting deeper as mining progresses to the north. We donot know the depth it goes since we have not reached the bottom yet. The cross-section sketch shown on the Annual Report Map shows what we think is happening. The area colored tan is the original depth of the quarry, the area colored maroon is the underlying formation and the area colored gray is what we think the deposit of cinder is doing. Understand that this information is just speculation and we will know better what is happening as mining progresses. We are continuing to screen some of the piles in the lower part of the site for brick material. This accomplishes two things it gave us a bonus of material that we thought had on value and reduces the piles of waste material placed by previous operators. ~. .,
