..- .~ ANNUAL REP FOR OCTOBER 10, 1985, PET ANNIVERSARY BOETTCHER (GOODWIN) GYPSUM QUARRY -- PERMIT NO. 77-346 LARIMER COUNTY, COLORADO IDEAL BASIC INDUSTRIES, INC., CEMENT DIVISION During 1984 the request to place the Boettcher Gypsum quarry in Temporary Cessation was rejected because of the reclamation efforts in effect at that time. No production work was done in the 1984-85 year, nor is any scheduled in 1985-86. However, some more reclamation is scheduled to be done during 1985-86. 1. Location and Number of Acres Affected During the Year The actual disturbed area of 12.5 acres has not increased since the 1983 annual report. 2. Location and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year No areas are considered as completely reclaimed at this time. 3. Location and Number of Acres in Various Stages of Reclamation The six acres planted in April, 1983, have covered as well as the native vegetation in the area. This will be observed for another year before requesting release of the area. 4. Species of Vegetation Planted, the Locations and Dates of Planting No planting has been done in this report period. 5. Type and Approximate Quantity of Fertilizers, Organic Material, or Soil Conditioners Used and Location of Use No fertilizers or soil conditioners have been used during this report period. 6. Aoaraisal of Results of Relamation Efforts Vegetation is covering the reclaimed area as well as the un- disturbed native areas, although species dominance is still fluctuating. An effort will be made to discover some species which will grow on the highly gypsiferous areas still to be reclaimed. 7. Estimates of Location and Number of Acres to be Affected in the Coming Year No production is scheduled for the 1985-86 period.
