•
SECTION I
INTRODUCTION
This site inventory is composed of two main components: ground-based site
photographs, presented in Section III, and an aerial orthomosaic, presented in
Section IV. As can be seen from the orthomosaic, the site has been divided into
some 19 areas of general disturbance. It should be noted that the term "site"
included not only the resource block area shown in the orthomosaic, but also the
southern part of the valley access road, the Parachute terminal facilities, and
the water intake site on the bank of the Colorado River.
The photographs shown in Section III were taken immediately before and after the
announcement of Exxon's suspension o f funding for the present Colony Project on
• May 3, 1982. The aerial orthomosaic shown in Section IV was photographed on
June 9, 1982. As such, both sets of photographs in Sections III and IV represent
the site before further construction and, in some cases, reclamation were done
after the May 3, 1982 an nouncement. These photographs therefore accurately
depict the site conditions at the ti me funding for the present Colony Project
was suspended on May 3, 1982.
This site inventory will not address specific actions that will be taken at the
site, in the future, such as further construction and reclamation activities.
These activities will be the subject of other reports and correspondence to the
appropriate regulatory agencies.
The aerial orthomosaic presented in Section IV is at 1 inch = 500 feet scale.
Table 1 lists the 19 areas of general disturbance. Note that the first 3 areas
(Colorado River Intake Site, Parachute Facilities, Valley Access Road-Off
Property) are not in the Resource Block, and therefore up to 15 miles south of
C7
