Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
Southfield Mine
2000 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT
Introduction
This Annual Reclamation Report documents all permanent reclamation activities conducted by
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc (EFCI) at the Southfield Mine during the 2000 calendar year. EFCI
actively mined and processed coal during the reporting period. EFCI filed for temporary
cessation of operations as of December 18, 2000.
Included with this report are text, discussion, and maps, in accordance with the requirements of
Rule 2.04.13. In addition, the Division's Annual Reclamation Report form is completed and
attached hereto.
Disturbed. Backfilled. and Toosoiled Ar
Areas disturbed during the reporting period were limited to increasing the azea for disposal of
coal processing waste. This disturbed area is located on the southwest corner of the_ existing
Refuse Disposal Area (RDA). The additional disturbance of approximately 1.2 acres is shown on
Figure 1, Refuse Disposal Area, attached hereto for reference.
No backfilling was performed during the reporting period. Any backfilling operations are
anticipated to commence following closure of the mine.
Soil cover, including topsoil, was placed on approximately 1 acre of the refuse pile during the
above referenced increase of refuse disposal area. The azea covered and topsoiled within the
RDA is shown on Figure 1, Refuse Disposal Area, attached hereto for reference.
r
No seeding or planting was performed during the reporting period. Seeding and mulching of the
topsoiled area of the RDA will be completed when a contractor is available to do the work.
Current and Previous Rev@getated Areas
All previously revegetated areas are shown on the attached 2000 Annual Reclamation Report
maps for the Loadout Area (Figure 2) and Refuse Disposal Area (Figure 1). Previously
revegetated areas on the refuse pile exhibit good growth and are effectively controlling erosion.
At the loadout area the permanent vegetation establishment is improving following the previous
year's re-seeding.
