/ntroductiort <br />A-1 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek below the <br />surface facilities and the Barren Ridge area. The site has been monitored to <br />assess effects of mining the Barren Ridge area. This well is adjacent to surface <br />water station S-2. <br />W-1 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek above the mine <br />facilities. This station was selected to assess alluvial baseline conditions. <br />W-5 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek below all mining <br />activities. The station was selected to assess potential effects of mining on the <br />alluvial water quality and level. <br />W-6 Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon. The station <br />was selected to monitor deep aquifer baseline in the Fruitland Formation during <br />mining of the Barren Ridge and Revision Area No. 1. <br />W-7 Domestic well located in the alluvium of Stollsteimer Creek approximately 3/4 <br />mile above mining activities. The station was selected as a control to assess the <br />effects of mining on well water quality. <br />W-9 Deep groundwater well located in the Fruitland Formation below the sedimenta- <br />tion ponds controlling runoff from Revision Area No. 1. The station was selected <br />to assess effects of mining activities on aquifer quality and level. <br />W-10 Deep groundwater well located in the Fruitland Formation above the sedimenta- <br />tion ponds controlling the Revision Area No. 1. The objectives of this station are <br />similar to those of W-9. <br />W-16 Deep groundwater well located in the reclaimed area of the east pit near Highway <br />151. The site was selected to assess the quality and level of water in the <br />reclaimed aquifer. <br />W-17 Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon. The station <br />was selected to monitor water quality and level in the Fruitland and/or Pictured <br />Cliffs Sandstone Formations as pit development takes place in the Revision Area <br />No. 2. <br />l W-18 <br />^ <br />Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon.
