1997 RILL AND GULLY SURVEY
Mine 3 - On the southern end of Mine 3, parcel 10/83 51.8 acres,
this gully has been partially repaired. The upper end
has some rock check dams placed at intervals. Some of
these have broken through. This year shows some new
vegetative growth along the edges of this repair. It
should be looked at in 1998. No significant erosion
was noted on Mine 3 South.
Area 1 9/85 82.6 acres - Overflow for Stock Pond 1-C
was repaired in fall of 1995. Checked in 1996 and
1997. The repair looks good.
Small gully on east side of PG 1-2 was difficult to
find and is grown in well. Doesn,t need any further
monitoring.
9/85 9.5 acres - This gully is in the southeast corner
and drains into PG 1-1. Vegetation is growing in well.
A small amount of erosion is present in a few places.
This gully has evolved into a good, stable structure.
No further monitoring is necessary.
Area 3 & 4: In parcel 10/82 99.5 acres, the northwest corner,
is a gully which is 155 yards long. There is
active erosion for 60 yards. This gully has
grown in well. It needs no further monitoring.
In parcel 10/79 97.3 acres is the gully which
starts at the central ditch and flows north into
the Pond M gully. This has become .well established
and needs~no further monitoring.
Area S1E Just east of the road a gully drains into PG 61-1.
The gully in the reclamation is well vegetated.
However, where it drains into PG 61-1 the down-
cutting is 5 feet deep and 8 feet across for about
20 yards. This could use some repair. Possibly
some rock. It should be assessed.
11/91 91.0 acres - The gully runs east of the road
which dissects the parcel. It is 100 yards long
and is growing in well. This needs no further
monitoring.
