A detailed mine map
is included with the 1996 Annual Hydrology Report.
Visual surveys of the area were conducted by MCC's contract surveyors while
surveying the grid shown on Map 29. MCC's contract hydrology monitoring
personnel are also in this area. No new subsidence features were observed. A visual
survey of the Jumbo Mountain area was conducted by MCC surveyors while
surveying the photo control points shown on Map 30 and by MCC's contract
hydrology monitoring personnel. The Division has also visited this area in August
1997. It was noted that the land slide continues at "Muffler Rock", located in the SW
'/., Section 24, T 13 S, R91 W, 6'~ PM. It was observed that small cracks located south
of panel point (PP) 7 had completely healed and were no longer visible. The lazger
cracks located on the dirt road east of PP8 have sloughed, filled and healed, but aze
still approximately 3 feet deep and 3-4 feet wide. There aze a series of cracks located
in the SWl/4, Section 24, T13S, R91W, 6's PM, which are healing. One area bulged
approximately 1 foot. A series of new cracks were found approximately 300 feet
west of PP10, SEl/4, Section 19, T13S, R90W, 6'" PM. These cracks run
approximately north to south and were 1 foot deep and 1 foot wide. It was noted
that there was an increase of surface water throughout the ent've flight area than ever
noted before.
Please call if you have any questions.
Christine E.
