Gunnison #1 Mine.
Also attached are a set of drawings prepared by our con-
sultant showing the construction details for the stabili-
zation of each area. These drawings are the bulk of the
bid package being sent to contractors who will do the
work.
The smallest slumps designated "E & F" on the map are the
result of settling of a shallow layer of loose fill and
we intend to visually monitor them through another runoff
season before we decide if further stabilization will be
necessary.
Some remedial treatments or precautions which have already
been completed and are not shown on the drawings include:
1) Shotcreteing the drainage ditches above areas
C, D, and E;
2) Adding asphalt to the north side of the road
above areas C and D so the water will run into
the shotcrete ditch and not onto the slope;
3) Planting small cottonwood trees along the seep
above the portals near area A;
4) Installing inclinometers in area A and between
area A and B to monitor any subsurface move-
ment. (No movement has been indicated to date).
I trust this information is sufficient for your needs.
Should you have any further questions, please let me
know.
Sinc rely, - / '
y~, /
Craig Hansen
Chief Mine Engineer
CGH/jm
Attachments

AMCO E:w
