Dept o1 Natural Resources Re: Annual Report Sterling Ready-Mix Concrete Co., Inc. Riverside Pit MLR No. 76-56 Our files indicate that the anniversary date for this permit is 22, February, 1983. Mining continued in Stage I as outlined in the Technical Revision accepted by the Mined Land reclamation Board on 24, March, 1983. Approximately 8.27 acres was clisturbed in Stage IV for a processing area as allowed in the Technical Revision. None of the land disturbed was lake perimeter and does not require sloping. We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report questions as outlined in Section 2.41 of the Rules and Regulations. 2.41 (1) We continued to mine in Stage I this year. Approximately 8.71 acres was disturbed in Stage IV allowed for in the Technical Revision (area that is cross hatched). Mining removed approximately 18,298 tons (0.49 acres +/-) colored blue. Please refer to the annual report map for the location of this mined area and processing area. (2) No reclamation was required this year. (3) We continued to backfill the excavated area in the northeast corner of Stage I (colored brown). We will completely fill this area in the next couple of years. (4) No new tree plantings were tried this year. (5) Not applicable. (6) Reclamation performed to date has been successful. We are still having problems with rabbits and beavers eating the trees planted in past years. High water prevented planting of trees along the lowline ditch and affected tree plantings in place from previous years.
