1
A-1 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek below the surface
facilities and the Barren Ridge area. The site has been monitored to assess effects
of mining the Barren Ridge area. This well is adjacent to surface water station S-2.
' W-1 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek above the mine
' facilities. This station was selected to assess alluvial baseline conditions.
W-5 Alluvial groundwater well located adjacent to Stollsteimer Creek below all mining
' activities. The station was selected to assess potential effects of mining on the
alluvial water quality and level.
W-6 Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon. The station
' was selected to monitor deep aquifer baseline in the Fruitland Formation during
mining of the Barren Ridge and Revision Area No. 1.
'
W-7 Domestic well located in the alluvium of Stollsteimer Creek approximately 3/4 mile
above mining activities. The station was selected as a control to assess the effects
' of mining on well water quality.
W-9 Deep groundwater well located in the Fruitland Formation below the sedimentation
' ponds controlling runoff from Revision Area No. 1. The station was selected to
assess effects of mining activities on aquifer quality and level.
W-10 Deep groundwater well located in the Fruitland Formation above the sedimentation
ponds controlling the Revision Area No. 1. The objectives of this station are
' similar to those of W-9.
W-16 Deep groundwater well located in the reclaimed area of the east pit near Highway
151. The site was selected to assess the quality and level of water in the reclaimed
aquifer.
' W-17 Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon. The station
was selected to monitor water quality and level in the Fruitland and/or Pictured
Cliffs Sandstone Formations as pit development takes place in the Revision Area
' No. 2.
W-18 Deep groundwater well located in the mouth of Deep Creek Canyon.
