Lamm
Governor
DATE: January 14, 1987
T0: Peter V. O'Connor
FROM: Steven G. Renner
RE: National King Coal, Fourth Quarter Subsidence Monitoring Report
Per your request I have reviewed the fourth quarter subsidence monitoring
report for the King Coal Mine.
It appears that monitoring for the fourth quarter, 1986, was completed as
required by the approved permit. My comments are as follows:
(1) The cover letter states that subsidence and ditch monitoring reports
for "the past two quarters of 1986" were enclosed, however only the
fourth quarter, 1986, report was submitted.
~) All survey data which has been gathered during the permit term should
be reduced, tabulated and submitted to the Division.
~) All survey data should be accompanied by subsidence profiles developed
between monitoring sites. The purpose of this submittal is to quantify
subsidence processes at the mine site.
(~ A map which shows the locations of the two new subsidence monitoring
sites should be submitted, along with a diagram which shows how these
monitoring points were constructed.
/b do
6741E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
