•
L J
Hydrologie Aam lntepunrion mid Imyact A.mavnau fir rht Pamir mdAdjacou Airar
NPDES etDuent limitations. During winter base-
Ilow and summer conditions water quality in the
North Fork is better and is within NPDFS effluent
limitations. However, this is the time of year when
MCCs ponds are rarely discharged.
Flow volumes from MCC sediment ponds are low
relative to the North Fork of the Gunnison flows.
Even doting low Ilow conditions on the North
Fork MCC discharges represent an impetcepn'ble
difference in stream quality.
Based on the anatyses, sediment pond discharges
have had no adverse impact on the North Fork of
the Gunnison River. 7'he quality of discharges
usually exceeds the quality of the North Fork In
addition, pond discharge flows are so small that
incremental changes in concentrations in the North
Fork are impercepu'ble.
Discharges of surface runoffin 1992 are expected
to be similar to 1991.
• 16
