1
1• COMPARISON OF RECLAIMED AREAS AND REFERENCE AREA
' The monitoring of the revegetated azeas allows for the identification of vegetation
community development trends during the extended liability period. Comparison of the
reclaimed area values for vegetation cover, herbaceous production, and species
1 composition illustrates whether revegetation has been successful, or whether additional
measures need to be initiated to enhance vegetation community development. The
tables below allow the comparison of the parameter values with the standard to be
achieved, either from the reference area in the case of vegetation cover and herbaceous
production, or the established standard for species composition.
' Vegetation Cover (199
Reference Area 1985 Reclam~ed 1986 Recleaned 1987 Reclaimed
bar 51.40 47.60. 47.80 46.00
S 3.53 3.63 4-57 5.96
n 10 10 , 10 ]0
' Nan 2 2- 3 6
~•
' Herbaceous Production (199
Reference Area 1985 Recleaned 1986 Reclaimed 1987 Recleaned
bar 301.6 ~ 480.0 / 383.9 497.4
' S 53.07 135.35 94.31 193.76
n 10 : 15.E 15 15
Nmin 10 24 ^° ` 19 47
~~_,.,

' Species Composition (199
Success Ref.
