Station 82 Grosse-Rhode Ranch Site. This station was created in 1996 by UTE Engineering
• and Surveying Company to replace previous Station 96. Discrepancies concerning
stations 94, 96, 97 and 98 required new stations to be established. The 2001
survey data indicates an elevation gain of 0.75 feet when compazed to the June
2000 elevation.
Station 83 Grosse-Rhode Ranch Site. This station was created in 1996 by UTE Engineering
and Surveying Company to replace previous Station 97. Discrepancies concerning
stations 94, 96, 97 and 98 required new stations to be established. No survey data
was reported for this site during 1998. The 2001 survey data indicates an
elevation gain of 1.11 feet when compazed to the June 2000 survey.
Pitkin Mesa Pipeline
Seven subsidence monitoring stations were established at locations along the Pitkin Mesa Pipeline
which overlies Panel C. Panel C development commenced in October with twenty-four crosscuts
completed by January 1, 1993. Panel C was mined utilizing a partial extraction design intended to
preclude the development of subsidence in order to protect the pipeline. The subsidence
monitoring stations along the pipeline aze depicted on Map No. 2-SA. The stations were
surveyed once in 2001; November 19. The results of this survey is appended to this report. The
2001 survey was conducted by Cragg Surveying. The Cragg survey will provide consistent
survey values in the future which will show that this azea is stable. Surveys will continue
approximately semi-annually until stability is documented.
• Visual Monitoring 2001
Visual subsidence monitoring is accomplished by periodic "walkovers" of recently mined azeas
within the present permit area. Walkovers aze generally done in conjunction with survey
monitoring due to the seasonal accessibility of the azea. During the 2001 monitoring season,
visual monitoring consisted of visual inspections done while performing survey monitoring and
water monitoring.
Visual monitoring is concentrated over azeas of retreat mining with particulaz emphasis on areas
mined under low overburden. Since the mine has now been idled in excess of 4 yeazs, there aze
no azeas of particulaz emphasis on which to concentrate visual inspections.
Projected Subsidence Impacts - 2002
Subsidence impacts during 2002 are projected to be minimal based upon subsidence patterns
established to date. No mining is currently projected for 2002.
Projected Subsidence Monitoring - 2002
Per the conditions of Technical Revision 16, the operator is required to inform the Division of
selected sites proposed for surveying for the upcoming yeaz. For the calendaz 2002 yeaz, the
operator proposes the following twenty (20) sites for surveying (see Map No. 2-5 appended to
this report): 6, 14, I5, 16, and 95; Drill hole location 55, 65, 66 and 68; structure locations in the
-4-
