Long Division Director Dear Mr. Gontarek: The Division recently began a comprehensive review of annual reclamation reports submitted by coal mine operators over the past few years as part of an effort to tabulate and report on the numbers of acres annually reclaimed by the Colorado coal mining industry. During that review, it became apparent that the basic acreage numbers which the regulations prescribe should be reported are not always reported in a readily available format. In order to ensure that the Division can accurately report acreages for all operations, we have developed [he enclosed form. We ask that you complete and submit the form with your Annual Reclamation Reports in the future. The Division also needs to compile historic data for mine disturbance and reclamation which occurred prior to 1991. when Annual Reclamation Report submittals began. In order to ensure that the beginning acreage figures in the Division's data base are accurate, we are also asking you to provide the following four tgures: ~, j ,.. /; Ord t 1.
