i
' Surface Water Monitoring - Springs
' The five (5)springs to be monitored monthly 'in the north half of
the Dry Fork basin have been observed during each site visit this
year with field parameters and flow rates taken if sufficient flow
' was present. These data are presented in Table 28.
Site visits were made to the springs specified for quarterly field
water quality sampling and flow measurements. The measurements
' were made at the appropriate springs if flow was present. These
data are presented in Tables 30 & 31.
'
Ground Water Monitoring
Monthly static water level measurements were taken at the required
' eighteen (18) well locatio ns. The results ar e shown in Tables 9
thru 26, and on Figures 1 through 18. Water level trends, except
for those in wells 23-H-3 and 23-H-4 (Figures 3 and 9), are
' essentially unchanged form 1983. The noticea ble rise in water
levels in 23-H-3 and 4 is roughly coincident with nearby
landsliding.

' Water Quality
' Quarterly surface water quality samples were taken for laboratory
analysis at the North Fork of the Gunnison River above the
Sylvester Gulch confluence, the North Fork of the Gunnison River
below the Bear Mine, and at the Sylvester Gulch flume site. The
' results are shown in Table 32.
Monthly field parameters of pH, electro-conductivity, temperature,
' dissolved oxygen, and turbidity were measured at the flume
locations in the Minnesota Creek basin. Results are shown in
Table 29.
Semi-annual water quality samples were taken from wells: C-76,
23-H-3, 23-H-4, SOM-2, SOM-13, SOM-16, and SOM-80
' Semi-annual water quality samples were taken from three of the
four (4) springs recommended for sampling. Spring G-la had
standing water only.
' Quarterly measurements of field water quality were taken from
alluvial well SG-1. Neither well 'dR-2 nor WR-3 contained
sufficient water for measurements of field water quality.
' SG-1 parameters: pH = 8.0
Cond. = 897
' Temp. = 9.0
-84-
