RECEIVED
ANNUAL REPORT M-1984-044, SAN ISABEL PIT JUN 1 0 2002
Division of Minerals and Geolagy
The only activity during this period continues to be removal of materials from stockpiles
in the pit. No new mining will be conducted in this pit. Removal of the existing
stockpiles is expected to take several years. Approximately 3,000 tons of material from
the stockpiles was removed this year.
During the coming year it is expected that final slopes can be placed on the excavated
slopes and and at least a portion of the stockpiled topsoil can be placed on the slopes and
they can be seeded. This will not be done if the extreme drought conditions continue in
the area. The little bit of existing vegetation on the slopes_and the topsoil stockpiles aze
better than can be achieved by disturbing and seeding in drought conditions.
The pit has been monitored for noxious weeds and none exist within the pit limits at this
time. Control measures will be taken should the need azise.
RECEIVED
JUN 01 2002
Division of Minerals and Geology
