The report pertains to
the revegetation success of the test plots at the refuse area 1 (RP-1-. This is the second study conducted by
Greystone of Englewood, Colorado.
Pages 11-20 of the report summarize the results of the study. Greystone has concluded the following:
• The vegetative stand has matured a great deal compared to the 1992 survey which is apparent by
a significant increase in perennial grass cover.
• In general, the vegetative cover is higher with lower soil depth (see Table 8). This result may have
occurred due to some other factors.
• There is a lack of woody plants.
• Production sampling was done for the first time. It shows that the plots are in transition to a self
sustaining stand of vegetation. Production was the greatest on plots with the lease cover depths
(see Table 8) which may be due to some other controlling factors.
WFU will conduct the third study in the summer of 1995. In the meantime if DMG has any questions or comments,
please let me know.
Sincerely, /~,/
Murari P.
