• D~ital Submission of 1995 Annual Reclamation Re <br />ort <br /> p <br /> Seneca Coal Company, in cooperation with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, <br /> submits the 1995 Annual Reclamation Aepor[ with maps and files on floppy disc. The <br /> narrati ve portion is a Microsoft Word Version 6.0 file--IIW95ANL.doc. Exhibits 95.1, 95,2a, <br /> 95.2b, 95.3, and 95.4 are AutoCad Version 12 drawing files. The drawing Eile scale ie 1 <br /> inch = 400 feet. Many of these files are too large to ESt on a single 3.5 floppy disc <br /> (those with a •.zip file extension) so they have been compressed using PKZIP . Before you <br /> can view [here files in Au [oCad 12 you must decompress them using PKUNZIP. <br />1995 Disturbance Area <br />The 1995 Annual Reclamation Report, Exhibit 95.2a, shows the limits of disturbance as of <br />December 31, 1995. The disturbance line ae shown on this exhibit depicts all disturbance <br />aesocia ted with the mining operation including haul road construction, soil removal and <br />storage, open pits, spoil pilee, etc. The additional area disturbed in 1999 to tale 21.9 <br />acres. <br />Backf illing and Grading <br />Backf illing and grading operations occurred in the mined out arae of the lower mining <br />block, "A" pit. A total of 9.2 acres were final graded in 1995. These areas are shown on <br />Exhibit 95.1, 1995 Annual Reclamation Report. <br />Light-use Roads <br />No new light use roads were added during the 1955 field season. <br />Soil and Spoil Monitoring <br />SCC is required by Permit C-E2-057 to monitor the salvage, storage, and redistribution of <br />soil and the spoil handling operations at Seneca II-W Mine. Specific programs include <br />documenting soil recovery, verifying soil redistribution thickness, determining final <br />graded spoil suitability in the Lennox Coal outcrop sampling area, determining soil <br />fertility, evaluating plant rooting characteristics, recording the source of replaced soil, <br />and completing an annual soil balance. The following sections present the Boil and spoil <br />monitoring data for the 1995 calendar year. <br />• 1 <br />
