1[I. AREAS 14IINED AND RECLAIMED IN 1999
'
3.01 East Side of Cenlral Quarry
' Mining was conducted along the east side of the Central Quarry during 1999. Final highwalls
were completed on Bench A and Bench B along the entire east wall to approximate elevations
of 6,440 ft and 6,390 ft, respectively. The geometry of the slope consists of 40 ft. highwall
I ' with 30 ft bench for Bench A, and 50 ft highwall with a 30 ft bench for Bench B.
3.02 West Side of Central Quarry
f , Mining was conducted along the west side of the Central Quarry during 1999. Final
highwalls were completed on Bench A and Bench B along the entire east wall to approximate
elevations of 6,453 ft and 6,403 ft, respectively. The geometry of the slope consists of 50 ft.
' highwalls with 30 ft benches.
' 3.03 South End of Central Quarry
The south end of the Central Quarry was not mined in 1999. The existing slope at [he south
' end of the Central Quatty is temporary and the highwalls and benches will change as the
quarry is further developed.
' 3.04 Floor of Central Quarry
The Central Quarry floor was lowered by mining from Bench A at El. 6,453 ft to Bench C at
EI. 6,353 ft. Relatively high specific gravity rock due to localized iron mineralization
' continued to be encountered in this mined area. As discussed later, the iron rich rock is more
competent than other rock in the quarry.
' 3.05 North Quarry
During 1999, mining was completed within the northwest section of the Nortlt Quarry. Final
' highwalls were completed on the north side of the North Quarry on Benches (, 7, 8, 9, 10,
11, 12, and 13. Mining continues within the central part of the in North Quarry on Benches
4 and 5. Mining has generally continued in a sequence of 40 ft highwalls with benches equal
to or greater than 40 ft.
1

{M-1~~3-flZl
G~\YROIGCTS\20200 Af urn>on Quarrc\OIIF\I )99\ncw lginarRup dct
1
