VI. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Development of CAMAS' Morrison Quarry is continuing in general accordance with the
approved Mine Plan. Mining is continuing at the floor of the Central Quarry and in the
' North Quarry in accordance with the Observational Method presented and approved in [he
permit amendments and technical revision. Mining in the North Quarry has varied slightly
from the phasing presented in Amendments Nos. 4 and 5 to improve operational
considerations and to provide for adequate mining safety for personnel, but has not varied
from the planned ultimate buildout.
Excavations performed during 1999 included final highwall completion of Bench A and B on
the west and east side of the Central Quarry. Excavation on [he east side of the Central
Quarry is progressing as planned with ground conditions improving compared to [hose
assumed for the baseline stability condition. The repaired slope remained stable throughout
' 1999 based on continued optical survey monitoring. Excavation on the west side of the
Central Quarry is currently being done with slopes having 50 f[ highwalls and 30 ft benches.
In the North Quarry, final highwalls were completed on the northwest side of [he quarry for
Bench 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. These benches and highwalls were excavated no steeper
' than IH:1 V, with highwalls generally no higher than 40 ft. Current mine slopes are presently
being excavated no steeper than 1H:1V
with hi
hwalls
enerall
no hi
her than 40 ft
,
g
g
y
g
.

u

1
1
G~\PkUIECfS\?U?IXi Mumwn Quarry\IX~SU'N~\nvwnUmarkup Ja
