ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2002
No actual production of washed sand and gravel occurred in 2002. Extraction of
pit run material occurred in the westerly end of Cell 1 (Area 1) with the material
extracted used to surface the yazd azea. Approximately 12,000 c.y. of material were used
in surfacing the yard.
Dewatering trenches as shown on the map have been established and Cell 1 and
the west end of Ce112 are being dewatered. The topsoil from Cell 1 and Area 2 has been
stripped and placed in the Temporary Berm. The Temporary Berm has been seeded and
shrubs and trees planted.
Overburden from Cell 1 has been backfilled into Area 1 and overburden from
Area 2 has been stockpiled in Area 1. Area 2 has been stripped and will be excavated
and the material stockpiled to create a wash water pond. The crushing and washing plant
is being assembled and should be operational in February of 2003, weather permitting.
Mining of Cell 1 will progress during 2003 with concurrent reclamation starting
on the west end and moving eastward. Operation should continue on ayear-around basis.
