DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Deparlmem o(Nalural Resources
171 J Sherman $I., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (1031 866-7567
FAx: 17031832-8106
June 13, 1996

STATE OF COLORADO
To: Kent Gorham
From: Janet Binns ~~
Re: Golden Eagle C-81-013), 1995 Annual Reclamation Report
II~~~
DE.PARTMEtJT OF
NATURAL
RESOURCES
Roy Romer
Governor
lames 5. Lochhead
EzeCLlive Director
Michael B Long
Division Direclo~
I have reviewed Basin Resources Annual Reclamation Reports for the Golden Eagle and
Mine for compliance with Rule 2.04.13. My comments regarding the reports follow.
Golden Eagle:
(1)(a) The address of the permittee is not included on the actual report. It is included on
the cover letter. Inclusion of the cover letter as a part of the report will cover this
portion of the rule. It is preferred that the name and address of the permittee, and
the permit number be included on the actual report.
(b) 8.7 acres were disturbed in 1995 with the construction of degas sites and roads and
exploration sites and roads. The enclosed map, Annual Reclamation Map, signed by
Ralph Lopez on 1/24/96, does not show the location of these reported disturbances.
The location and extent of the disturbances need to be included on a map.
(c) 4.23 acres of Exploration sites and roads were backfilled and graded. There is no
explanation of location nor are these sites and roads delineated on a map. There is
no explanation of how these sites were treated; backfilled depth, cut and fill, etc..
The operator needs to designate these locations on a map and describe what was
done on the sites. Referencing which exploration hole numbers were reclaimed is
advised.
(d) The report states that 4.23 acres of exploration sites and roads were topsoiled. There
is no topsoil replacement depth mentioned. The operator needs to state the depth
topsoil was replaced and show on a map where the topsoil was replaced. The
operator needs to define where the topsoil material utilized came from.
(e) 4.23 acres of exploration sites and roads were seeded. Once again there is no
description of where these reclaimed acres are. The 1995 Annual Reclamation map
does not show them either.
